Jalapeño Inferno is a locally owned Mexican Restaurant in North Scottsdale. The food is not the typical Arizona style but more of a southwest flair with touches of New Mexico. If your looking for a Cantina type of place they have a great bar which is a separate room from the main dining area. The bar also opens out into the patio on nice days. There is plenty of outdoor seating.
We have been there numerous times and the thing that stands out is the food. Arizona has a lot of Mexican food but this place has something unique about it. The reviews reflect the sometimes not perfect service. We have had great service at times and other times the service sucked. The other downside is they recently switched to Pepsi, just be warned of those two things when you go.
Our three favorite dishes there is the chili relleno, shrimp enchiladas and tamales. They do things different and it’s slightly more expensive than other Mexican places, but this is a case of you get what you pay for. Want a great adult beverage, then try the Cadillac Marg.
A few other tops on the food. The chips and salsa is incredible. I know that’s standard but not every place still gives that to you for free. Green corn tamales which are tough to find are special here. And the guacamole is something you should get if you love guac. There is a second location at DC ranch but we generally go to this location.
All Mexican food lovers owe it to themselves to give this place a try.
