Live streaming has become very popular lately. Sites like twitch have hundreds of thousands of viewers that watch their favorite players stream on the site. It’s no wonder that more people are looking into different ways to create their own live streams, including one’s right here on amino. With that in mind, here are some tips to help you create your own live stream.

1. Make Sure To Have The Right Equipment

The equipment required to live stream is pretty simple. You’ll need a computer with either an integrated or discrete graphics card, an otg capable phone, and some sort of capture device. The type of stream you wish to create will determine what you need exactly. For example, the higher the resolution, the more powerful your pc will need to be.

2. Test Your Settings

Before you go live, it’s important that you test your settings first to ensure everything is working correctly. If something isn’t, then try using some other programs to record the screen and check if it works with those first before making any changes on OBS or XSplit since it could just be a bug.

3. Have A Dedicated Microphone

Having a dedicated microphone ensures that you are able to talk with your viewers without having to worry about audio delay, because the mic is plugged directly into your computer. If you do not have a separate mic or headset then it’s recommended to use earbuds instead, since they don’t pick up any background noise.

4. Customize Your Stream

The best thing about having your own stream is that you can customize it to your liking. What kind of overlay do you want? Do you want a webcam on top of the video feed? Do you want custom emotes for people to use in chat? These are all things that you’ll need to add when you’re setting up your stream.

5. Use Quality Coding Programs

Now, when it comes to coding programs there are a few options out there for you to choose from. Most people will tell you that OBS and XSplit are the best way to go, however some people prefer VLC Media Player or Wirecast instead. Try out all of these options to see which you like best, then stick with it.

6. Be Patient With Yourself

It’s easy for new streamers to get discouraged when they first start streaming. This is especially true if your not used to being in front of a camera while speaking, since it can be very intimidating at first. It’s recommended that you practice streaming every once in a while until it becomes second nature to you.

Live streaming can be very fun, especially when you have your own stream with your friends watching! Just remember to keep on practicing and don’t give up, because eventually you’ll get better at creating your own live streams! As always if you have any questions, please leave them in the comments below.
